Cabo Blanco Biological Reserve
Your Beija Flor Naturalist Guide on an interesting nature hike through one of the most beautiful scenic sites on the Pacific Coast, Cabo Blanco Biological Reserve.
Cabo Blanco is a marine bird sanctuary for species like brown pelicans, maJoingnificent frigate birds, and brown boobies. Some of the attractions that make Cabo Blanco such an interesting and beautiful wilderness area are its dense semi-deciduous forest, deep-blue sea with islands that serve as important nesting sites for marine birds and animals, such as white-tailed deer, three species of monkeys, agoutis, coyotes, wild cats.
Cattle’s ranching is primarily based in the Peninsula of Nicoya, one of the areas where the Spanish first settled.
Take an unforgettable horseback ride through Hacienda Arío, a 5000 acre, family-owned ranch only 4 miles up north from Bija Flor Resort (15 min drive, transfer or quad), where development has been kept at bay due to limited access through private holdings and natural buffers of estuaries, rivers and mangroves.
The property runs parallel to a pristine stretch of coastline, called Manzanillo Beach.
Canopy del Pacífico
This canopy tour is based in the quiet seaside village of Mal País, on a farm at the entrance of Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve; this whole area is covered in tropical rainforest.
This exciting canopy ride is nearly a kilometer long and has 7 platforms set high on the trees.

Surfing Trips and surf Lessons
Surfing Trips and Lessons
Santa Teresa Beach, where Bija Flor Resort is located, visitors come all year round to surf either the beach breaks or the more challenging waves at the rocky points around the area.
We offer surfboards for rent and transportation if necessary.
Transportation by boat is also available to other surfing spots, some of them totally unspoiled; please ask the Bija Flor Guide for details. We also offer surfing lessons for those interested in a new adrenaline filled experience.
Costa Rica is an angler’s dream come true. We offer great deep sea fishing, billfish being our biggest attraction, particularly sailfish and marlin.
However, fishermen regularly hook plenty of wahoo, roosterfish, yellow fin tuna and mahi-mahi among other feisty fighters.
It is also common to encounter whales and numerous dolphins during the fishing trips.
